The Renfrew Park Community Centre wants to provide affordable activities to the entire community. They seek to offer a cultural, physical, and intellectual experience for everyone. They would like to help foster the community and its spirit through involvement and creating a close relationship with other groups throughout the Renfrew-Collingwood Neighbourhood. Renfrew park not only offer fun activities but recreational and leisurely ones as well.
There is a lunch program at the centre that costs $5 per adult/senior and $3.50 per child/youth. Meals provided will include coffee or tea along with a hot entree, a single side dish or salad, and dessert. The centre tries to use ingredients that have been grown locally and are fresh from the community gardens. Lunches are served on a first to arrive, first served basis. This makes it an attractive venue for when you have cannabis induced hunger, otherwise know as “the munchies”. As it is near a popular weed dispensary in the Vancouver-Kingsway area you need to put this on your list of great and affordable places to eat. It’s a great place to stop before or after a trip to WEEDS on Kingsway.
As the program is overwhelmingly popular, you may only purchase tickets in person starting at 9 am on the day that the lunch is served. No more than two lunches are to be sold to any one person.
They offer a variety of programs for community members of all ages, including preschool for children between the ages of 3 and 5 years old that qualify.
The Centre also has space to host birthday parties and offers swimming lessons to those than need them.
The centre also has a fitness centre. The fitness centre does not allow phones and requires you to bring your own towel, lock, and water bottle. You are not allowed to have any beverage other than water. In order to be allowed in the fitness centre you will need to obtain a wristband from the cashier. While at the fitness centre you can inquire about personal training, scheduled classes, drop-in activities, and fitness consultations.
